Effective storytelling plays a crucial role in helping your nonprofit thrive by engaging your supporters and inspiring them to take action. With Resilia, we've made it easy and intuitive for you to create compelling story content. Follow these steps to get started:
Step 1: Create a Story
- Navigate to the Impact Stories subtab within Resilia.
- Click the "Create Story" button located in the top-right corner of the Impact Stories page.
- Choose the template that best suits your goal and desired storytelling approach. Templates are available for sharing testimonials, impact narratives, fundraising appeals, and project updates. You can also start with a blank story template to craft your unique narrative.
Step 2: Craft Your Story
- Begin by giving your story an internal title, visible only within the application, to keep your stories organized for you and your team.
- Customize the theme colors to match your branding by clicking the gear icon at the top of the page.
- Fill in each block of the template with the suggested content provided in the blue box. Click inside the block to add or edit text, quotes, images, and more.
- To save time, you can select sections from previous stories that will populate on the left-hand side of the story being created.
- If you want to embed a video in your story, obtain the embedded code from platforms like YouTube or Vimeo. Select the "Share" option on the respective platform, choose "Embed," and copy/paste the embed code into the Impact story section to embed the video.
- To preview your story at any time, click on the page outside of any block.
-
Save your work as you progress, ensuring that your changes are preserved.
From our experts
“A compelling Call to Action is essential. Clearly direct your audience on the next step after reading your story. Keep the Call to Action simple, such as a "donate here" button, which redirects supporters to a website where they can contribute, volunteer, register for events, etc.”
